Let’s Go For A Ride by The Superjams
How do you say “awesome” in Swedish?
We’ve all been craving music like this, and it’s been delivered to us from three talented musicians out of Rockholm, Sweden. The band is called The Superjams and they consider themselves a powerpop garage rock band. Their newest EP Let’s Go For a Ride is a promising success. Their sound is upbeat and high-energy with captivating lyrics. Vocals by Jaokim Sundberg have a carefree spirit similar to those of Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo. Fredrik Odelmalm on bass guitar and drummer Max Lartell help keep up the heat with styles influenced by bands such as Jet and the Foo Fighters. Listening to their music makes you wonder how so much talent can derive from just three guys.
Their track “Intoxicated” is destined to be a favorite of partygoers who look forward to drunk dancing on Saturday nights. Its catchy chorus makes you want to jump off of trampolines and play air guitar. I can imagine a lot of fans entertaining the amusing lyrics and enjoying listening to this fun song. “Roll Over” is another hot track that wakes up your ears to feel-good rock n’ roll rhythms. Overall, this music is, for lack of better terms, super jams that no one can resist.
Their album art is a true display of how they define rock n’ roll: adventurous and vivid. When they sing “Go For a Ride,” I want to hop into their tour bus and join the party. This sing-along rock song builds up to the chorus and fans can enjoy a little singing with the band while watching their new music video here. The level of excitement is intriguing with lyrics, “You smiling behind the wheel, turning.. me around. Oh won’t you take me for a ride.” And the last track on the EP, “Have It All,” is a song that reminds us why we love tambourines and a smooth, funky bass line.
The Superjams know how to entertain and they would be exciting to see live. Full of kinetic drive, this could very well be “your new favorite band,” as they like to claim. The Superjams have a growing talent and a desire for a brighter spotlight. We feel they deserve it.
